vizio IPTVs afaik are linux and they sport a netflix app.
Why is there no mention of moonlight in the wiki? even if "no, not even with moonlight".
Netflix does now work in Ubuntu using a custom WINE as of November 27, 2012:
Code:
ppa:ehoover/compholio
Code:
Simplified BSD Licence, MIT / X / Expat Licence
login to netflix, attempt to play an item, enable
evil DRM content when prompted by silverlight. joy.
. Now would be an excellent time to Jabber all your friends! What, luddite, no XMPP? Forsooth:
http://wiki.xmpp.org/web/OTR . Cease wasting money texting via sms; upgrade to texting via xmpp with OTR.
If used do financially thank the developer:
http://netflixonlinux.chipin.com/netflix...-on-ubuntu
lest the
developer , Erich Hoover,
https://launchpad.net/netflix-desktop , abandon it.
instructions exist for self compiling else
Code:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ehoover/compholio
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install netflix-desktop
You may now interact with other sites foolishly requiring silverlight. Wild speculation or wishful thinking has many believing PlayOn will release an alternative HTML5 client.
With a flexible license one might see Netflix on XBMC soonventually.
