DTS doesn't work?
#1
If I play a dvda dolby or dts file that is in iso format or an avi file I get the correct multi-channel sound. I have a Lenovo Q190 hooked up HDMI to a Pioneer Elite VSX-84TSXI and the Q190 is running Windows 8 and XBMC 12.2. The XBMC audio settings for both options are set to: Direct sound HDMI to VSX-84TSXI all of my audio files play perfect except DTS Wav files and they are totally unresponsive. What am I doing wrong?

Are these music files?

If so this maybe a problem with paplayer which is the default for music, if this is the case then open the Context Menu with file highlighted then select Play Using and choose dvdplayer.

I tried your suggestion, but it did not work. Any other ideas?

You are not alone! I have been having real trouble with DTS-A files too. I have mine ripped to "song.dts" files. It's not working properly.

I really struggled to get HDMI to transmit the audio, too. Optical works well... but pauses after every song finishes.
I've previously filled out a ticket here,

Thankfully the roadmap has this mentioned:
"Add native support for playback of physical DTS Music Disc media and DTS-CD images"

Let's hope that means files as well as images. *fingers crossed*

(Windows Media Player and AC3 Filter work just fine btw)
