Browsing the music library in my Pi is really slowly 12-15s to show the artists or albums list, with fairly large library.

I have around 2500 artists, few hundred albums, so not too crazy.

I've switched to a mysql server (on another PI) and it's mildly faster now, byt still 12s to get the artist list.

The query on the db (from mysql command line) is taking a well under 1s so it seems to be XBMC taking the time.

Anyone else seen this? Or is it working fine for you?

Hade same issue for all video plugins I used. I deactivated the plugin: watchdogand my system got more responsive again.

Maybe there is a plugin making it slow?

Unfortunately I only have the default plugins installed, and default skin.

Happens after a rebuild from scratch, when the only thing I do is scan items to the library

I get 5 seconds for Artists and 6 seconds for Albums

690 artists
2258 albums

Using nfs on a WHS 2012 PC for media and Storage. PI moderately overclocked.

Not tried MySQL as I've only got one instance of XBMC and use Squeezeplay for everything else in the house.

No plugins, XSqueeze too slow for my liking
