recommened hdd filesystem for linux pvr?
#1
im sure there is a few ppl on here who could answer this question for me without thinking too hard on it?

ive setup enigma2 with VU+ pvr, and for the most part this system runs quiet well, however ive noticed that if i record with a filesize larger then approx 1.9 gb, then the file refuses to playback in any software, and also fails to open in any editors.

i "think" i setup as ext fs, but im not 100% which version.

so to be more specific;

1). could my corrupt recordings be due to wrong filesystem on hdd?

2). if fs is incompat, could you pls suggest a fs that will be easy enough for linux noob to setup on enigma2 stb?

many thanks for your consideration,

ext should be fine, no matter which version. I suspect your problem lies elsewhere.

cheers mate.

ill investigate other things then:-)

although, i managed to get mpegstream something to open and cut some time off the stream, and then save. the resulting stream then opened in videoredo.

now my problem is mpg corruption mid stream. i ran the included "streamfix" option embedded in this old proggy mpeg stream whatever its called, and it claimed 1 x hrs capture had 50+ dropped signal errors.

i think ill try a different usb hdd.
