right now the httpapi command set is much more complete than the xbmc builtin command set, especially since builtin commands are callable from the httpapi.
in this vein it would be nice if there was a builtin command that could call the httpapi. it might be possible now from skins but with python you would have to talk to the web server which isnt guaranteed to be up. making a builtin command should make it easier.
