How to Remotely Access XBMC ( Screen Share or SSH)

Lightbulb
Hi,

1) I'm ideally looking for a way to screen share a linux installed g-box midnight with my computer. I have access to both mac and pc so any software suggestions are welcome.

Or

2) To be able to remotely access the files on the g-box via SSH.

Want to save myself the 2 hour drive to fix my mothers G-box!!!

Screen share would be preferable but if anyone has any suggestions let me know!!

Thanks in advance.

I have similar problem, cannot SSH into G-Box Midnight MX2. If I use web browser and enter "http://box.net/dav " I get a log in screen but don't know what the log-in or password is. Can anybody help?

Thanks,

Mark

I use WinSCP to log into my g-box midnight.

Use the SCP Protocol, the midnight's IP, and port 22.

My user name is 'root', and I don't recall the password (it's saved, but I think it's g-box), but it's unique to my linux xbmc build (static iirc).

Have a look at X2Go (http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php)
You can connect to the running XBMC session or connect to a desktop session. I'm not really familiar with the G-Box though, what linux distro is it? I know X2Go works on Ubuntu/Debian and any of the DE's for them.

Thanks for the reply, I broke my tv, as soon as I get a new one, I will try this, thanks

I am using the distro that comes with the G-Box, I think they call it JellyBean 4.2.2?

I crashed it and had to do the toothpick restore, then install the XBMC made for this box.
