Linux Still Bluray issues (subs & menu & language)
#1
First, I do not know if this is the correct place to put this, but already tried it in other fora and got no response (probably because there are a lot of posts and not all can or will be seen).

BD-J Menu
First the menu's, if installed correctly there should be support for BD-J menus in XBMC, however I never have the ability to get to the menu because my GIT compiled XBMC version crashes. (Frozen image on something else than a menu)

Also some info in:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=166782

Furthermore the GIT commit which should make support possible:
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/commit/27da...bdacb57ac2

BD Language & Subtitle name
In this discussion there is talked about support for language and sub information:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=147826&page=3
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1401231

Probably between this topic and the underneath fix support was included. So with a recent commit this should be fixed again?
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/2948
Which if I understand correctly does what I am looking for. Displaying in the xbmc menu the different languages and streams by (language aka Japanese, English etc) name.
For the subtitle it only does English, and for stream only English and Japanese (So no other languages which might be a mistake in my XBMC, but it is not checked as a failure so until now I think it is not working correctly).

For now this is the info I would like to share and if someone is willing to step in I am more than welcome to help with supplying more information.
Again my apologies if I posted in the wrong forum/directory.

All above is tested with GIT1102e36

I need to make an adjustment to my above mentioned statement. Today I tested a couple of my bluray BDMV folders and played them (without use of menu) and what I noticed was that in a couple of cases the recognition only got a couple of language descriptions (and the rest unknown) while for others all where recognized and as such displayed.

So my statement of not working is only partially true. If necesarry I can supply with links to not working files.
Thnx

If the files are free (of copyright) I could have a look.

Read it, that's not an option. But i have a bluray in my collection (Terminator 4) with the same issue. Haven't found a solution yet...

Great. thnx for the feedback.
You are going to look at the sub and stream info I suppose.

Is it on your side also impossible to see a BD_j menu? (Which means Libbluray plys BD-J support installed?)

@bd-j, this is still experimental and afaik still borked in libbluray. so don't expect that every bd-j disc will work.

Ahh, thought so. Just checked the GIT and saw and fix.

Will try maybe tomorrow.... We will see.
Mybe an idea -> is it possible to make an active check on BD-J enablement in the ./configure
Now it is general bluray check, but since it is still alpha it would be nice if it is reported that the functionality is embedded in XBMC even if it is not working.

(Hope you understand what I mean)

Any progrress on the streaminfo issue?

I have tested my bluray with the example programs provided by libbluray and with makemkv. It is indeed as you said, some playlists provide an insufficient number of streams (to all programs). So it seems to be a "problem" with the playlist on the bluray.

Is it worthy to create a ticket for this on the respective issue list?
(Did you check this already?)

Don't know, the only thing I can think of is to query the clip info file directly, but I guess that this isn't conform to the specification.
