Should this project be added to the "Known List of GPL Violators"?

Give them a chance, the product's not even released yet.

video looks pretty impressive.

fingers crossed it runs on some other e2 hardware, though I guess most e2 boxes wont have enough ram for a lot of the xbmc loving we are now used to.

Are there pictures of the hardwareHuh

No pictures, because it don't give the final hardware yet.

The developers uses the Pinacle IP9500HD box (a clone of the Geant 77HD, Tiger T650, Starmax X200, ...), but it could be, that it's not the production platform for E2BMC.

The code basis are XBMC for the Marusys Prismcube boxes at update.prismcube.com but with Enigma2 from openPLI cross-compiled instead the DVB app for the Prismcube.

It doesn't appear to have become reality yet.

"MK-Digital Cube E2BMC " looks to be first announced compatible box to be released now in Q1 2014

https://www.facebook.com/e2bmc
http://www.e2bmc.de
http://www.youtube.com/user/E2BMC

Pre-order looks to be available via some online shops in Germany already and does not seem too high

No info yet however about this set-top box on MK-Digital's own website http://www.mk-digital.de

No idea if the E2BMC project have an official forum on its own, but looks like OpenA.TV acts an their main forum, and I suspect members from OpenATV team are behind E2BMC

http://www.opena.tv (German only), and their YouTube which videos made me suspect them https://www.youtube.com/user/openATV

OE-Alliance's OpenATV team, a team of independent developers, are also said to be developing third-party OpenEmbedded Linux images with XBMC for E2BMC boxes.

http://wiki.opena.tv OpenATV wiki

Since last year you can at least can track their upstream changes to their OpenEmbedded Linux core on OE Alliance and OpenATV main repositories at their GitHub accounts here

https://github.com/oe-alliance

https://github.com/openatv

OpenATV also provide binary images here

http://images.mynonpublic.com/openatv/nightly/

openATV team looks to be the main founders of the OE-Alliance, which apparently is an alliance of formerly independent teams that was previously all developing OpenEmbedded Linux based images for set-top boxes.

http://www.opena.tv/allgemeine-image-inf...iance.html
Quote:OE Alliance is representing the following teams: (25.05.2013)

openATV , openVix , openMips , Egami Team , odin-support , xtrend-support , Technomate , HDF-Team , SIF-Team , MixOS , Octagon , openSPA , Axas , MiniCat-TV , openSWF

But what I really want to know is where can we find the source code for the XBMC/Kodi forks used on any of the existing E2BMC boxes that are already out?

MK-Digital Cube and D-Cube R2 are two E2BMC boxes been available to buy for quite a while now and still no source code released., and OpenATV team releases images for it
http://images.mynonpublic.com/openatv/ni...open=dcube

Now they have also announced two MIPS based E2BMC boxes, Mutant HD2400 or Opticum AX Quadbox HD 2400, that are both suppose to come out soon.

And as far as I know the developers behind E2BMC is still not respecting the GPLv2 license that XBMC/Kodi is bound by?

The only "official" links for E2BMC that I can find are these:
http://www.e2bmc.com
https://www.facebook.com/e2bmc
http://www.youtube.com/e2bmc

MK Anadolu GmbH in Germany looks to be the commercial company behind E2BMC and MK-Digital
http://www.mk-digital.de
http://www.mk-anadolu.de

At least none of these pages seem to contain links to any source code used by E2BMC or GPL usage.

I'll believe it when I see it.

EDIT: Apparently Kodi works with some Vu+ STBs. Some/most addons dont. Get ready for an avalanche stating X-addon doesn't work.

Yes , and seem "only" kodi . I thougt it was kodi with livetv/ pvr from the vu box.
Kodi is " only a addon"
I was more looking for a Kodi/Blackhole image for my vu solo2
