Linux Problem exiting to console
#1
Hi,

I have XBMC running via the XBMCbuntu installation.
Everything is fine, but now i need to troubleshoot my wireless nic, and i cannot figure out how to get a console.

If i choose exit in XBMC it just restarts XBMC after some time.
And Ctrl-Alt-1 etc. just gives me a blank screen, with no prompt.

Please help.

When you exit XBMC in XBMCbuntu, you should get the log-in window. From there, you should be able to select the "XBMCbuntu" session (instead of "XBMC") and, after logging-in, you should be presented with the desktop environment.

I don't get any login window - it keeps restarting xbmc.

I plan to boot from a CD, and get into the filesystem that way, but where should i look?

Did you perhaps mean to say Ctrl-Alt-F1 rather than Ctrl-Alt-1?
