AMD A-350 Hardware Acceleration
#1
Hi everybody,

I have installed XBMCbuntu-12.00-RC3.AMD and I must admit it's great that everything[sound, remote controll(imon)] is detected correctly in contrast with others [Mythbuntu]. The only problem I noticed is that the Video Playback Hardware Acceleration is not actually working since the CPU usage is sky high always near 100%, with 1080p movies. On Windows 8 this is not an issue since the CPU usage is near 40% so the hardware is fine. I have DivX[with the hardware acceleration enabled] installed on Windows as the default decoder but I do not know if it's used by the XBMC application or if XBMC is using its own decoders. VLC and MPC are also working correctly on windows when the hardware acceleration is enabled with the CPU at ease; I did not try those on Linux XBMCbuntu though.

What can I do to really enable hardware acceleration on XBMCbuntu and just forget about Windows 8 for my HTPC?

I used some the settings here but failed to improve anything with 1080p movies.

Thank you very much!
