New Aluminum/Steel Server Cases
#1
I came across these server/NAS cases today on Newegg.com. I think they look pretty cool -- nice brushed aluminum front and I like the blue hot-swap handles. The price jump from 3 x 3.5" to 4 x 3.5" is kind of crazy though.

I've had in mind for a while now to offer server barebones. I've built quite a few one-off servers in Lian-Li PC-Q25 case. I love these cases though. They fit right in with the Realan cases.

These definitely look more like a server, but are they worth it over the Fractal Node 304?

Not at $49.99 for the 304, no way.

They're still cool looking though...

With the 4 bay at that price why bother with it and just go for the 5 bay since they are the same size overall. Strange - I wonder if they priced it wrong.

Very cool looking through, thanks for sharing.

Exactly. I'd go 3 or 5 -- which works well if you're doing FlexRAID or the like since you can have 2 or 4 DRUs + 1 PPU.

I think this is just a case with the iStarUSA 5.25" to 3.5" hotswap cage in it, 3, 4 or 5 bay.
