no GUI sonds, no beat detection
#1
Hi,

I'm running XBMC on Arch Linux. I've got two minor problems: I can't turn on any GUI sonds and the beat detection in any visualizations isn't working. I tried it with both versions, the one from the official repositories and the xbmc-git from the AUR.
Everything else works just fine, even the sound as regards playing music and videos.
I tried puting the following in advancesettings.xml :

<audio>
<streamsilence>1</streamsilence>
</audio>

Didn't help Confused
Does anyone have an idea?

You need to tell us more about your setup. How is your audio configured/hooked up?

Of corse, sorry.
I've got an external soundcard (with a Burr-Brown OPA2604 chip) connected via USB. Working fine in normal desktop (gnome) environment. In XBMC I've selected the "external analog speakers" as audio output device. I tried to turn off the internal audio device via bios but that didn't change anything.
