I built Eskro's A6-3500 setup about 2 years ago and want to build another for a friend, would the A4-5300 be good choice? I want to run the apex MI-008 case, what mobo would be best?

Current set up
A6-3500
Asrock a75
Patriot 32gb ssd
Silenx fan
6tb external
Pioneer bluray burner
Win7
2x4 Kingston Hyper X

Looking for suggestion that will work in the Apex Case, same build but no bluray or external Hdd's. I already have Win7 looking to stay under $400 including 1 2Tb external and Memory

I used to build that setup all the time and folks loved it. Hiwever, one of the new Haswell Pentiums with the ASUS H81I-PLUS would be a better build these days.

Intel Pentium G3220

$69.99

ASUS H81I-PLUS LGA 1150 Intel H81 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard

$79.99 + shipping

BTW, you couldn't build your setup for under $400 with all those extras.

So no seperated Gpu is needed with the intel now? When I built my setup most the intel builds required a seperate Gpu . I will come in right at budget with the intel combo you suggested. Only concerned with 2D 1080p, bitstreaming a plus though.

For the past 4 generations of Intel processors, the one I linked above being the 4th, the GPU has been integrated into the CPU with 1080p and HD audio bitstreaming supported.
