I'm running XBMC Eden to use the dual analogue and digital output patch. I run the analogue outputs from my pc to my hifi amp for listening to music, and the digital for movies & surround sound stuff and everything else etc.
I'm now looking to improve the sound quality of my music and am considering the Asus Xonar DX soundcard. The reviews look good and it should fit my Asus AT5ION mini PC.
My question is - will the dual audio patch still work with this soundcard? It will defeat the point of getting it if I have to keep switching audio settings in XBMC when I want to listen to music / hifi.
I'm also considering a Cambridge Audio DAC (DAC-Magic) instead. It's twice the price of the soundcard so I'd be interested in any thoughts on going that route too.
