Only the vast minority of weirdoes like us want to hook a PC to a TV and control it with a remote. I even have to argue with HTPC case manufacturers I work with that it's mandatory to include a small window for an IR receiver.

Speak to nVidia, AMD and Intel. They make the majority of video chipsets out there, and none of them have ever incorporated HDMI-CEC as far as I know.
And as convenient as HDMI-CEC should be, it seems that there seem to be some common problems
* inconsistency in manufacturer implementation
* lack of appropriate buttons on most tv remotes
