Solved The Young Turks
#1
The Young Turks is an online news program. They now have a 24/hr live stream and they upload all of their segments to YouTube. They also have a number of shows associated with the TYT network. I was hoping someone could create a TYT Network add-on for XBMC similar to the TWiT add-on (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add-on:TWiT).

Ideally, the add-on would allow access to the TYT live stream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2CKDRQBUsI), the main videos (http://www.youtube.com/tyt), and the other shows on the network like:

TYT University: http://www.youtube.com/tytuniversity
What the Flick: http://www.youtube.com/user/whattheflickshow
The David Pakman Show: http://www.youtube.com/user/MidweekPolitics
NerdAlert: http://www.youtube.com/user/NerdAlert

There are other shows, but those are the ones I watch mostly.

Everything is hosted on YouTube, but the XBMC YouTube player isn't working for the live stream (at least for me... and I haven't been able to get any help about it in the release thread... every other live stream works just fine. Just not TYT) and it doesn't allow for any kind of folder/organization, so everything gets mixed up with my other subscriptions. But because everything is on YouTube, I wouldn't think this would be super difficult, but I really don't have the technical expertise to know.

Just thought it would be a good idea. Hopefully I'm not the only one out there who loves this network!

I'm aware this is an old thread but I second this request. There are TYT apps available for Roku, Android and IOS but can't seem to find one for Kodi.

I think most of the things listed can be accessed with the youtube plugin.

I would like something like this but for accessing the member only archives.

I just created a TYT video plugin for members. It is on the kodi main repository. To use it, you must be a member. Make sure to go to settings and put in your username and password. It has hour1, hour2, post game, old school, and behind the scenes. All their other content is already accessible through youtube, which I may add in later. The videos that are from when they had the MBox hosting servers don't work (Then again, they don't work on their site either), but when they port them over to their new server, they should work. Just search for TYT in system/addons (If it doesn't show up, pull the left tab over and click "Check For Updates"). This plugin works with Jarvis and newer.

Does the plugin still work? When I go on the members section, I get an error.

There was an update that fixed most of the issues, but none of the members only videos work.

The members only sections are all working now, sorry for the delay. It was working on my local system, and I had no idea the members section wasn't working, but it is fixed now. I wrote the plugin, because I am a TYT member, and watch the content; so this plugin will get frequent updates, and won't become dormant.

Grateful new user here - I was afraid I'd have to write my own plugin but this one looks great!

Only problem is I can't seem to get member content working despite having entered my username and password. Given that someone recently reported the same challenge, I thought I'd ask if I was the only one before getting out Wireshark and logs.

Plugin version 2.0.3 on Kodi 16.1 on Win7.

Make sure you're entering it correctly, it should work fine (must use EMAIL address, not general username). The bug was fixed a while ago, and is not present in 2.0.3. Try loading with video/addons (If you click on a shortcut from the homescreen of kodi, it loads a cached plugin profile. This goes with ANY kodi plugin, so if you are ever having a problem with a plugin try loading it from video/addons instead of a shortcut). Once you've loaded it in video/addons, it will reload kodi's cache, and you can load it from a homescreen shortcut. Sorry it took a while to answer your question, I check the forums every other week. Can you view anything from the members section? I've tested it in Linux and Android with both versions 16.0 and 16.1 on several different machines. I'll check it out on my Windows machine just in case, maybe it is some weird windows issue, but I doubt it.

The new release of Kodi v17 either forgot to port over some code or now has a new method of doing something minor, so currently the plugin doesn't work with v17 of Kodi. I was hoping they would have this missing api included by release time. If I get some time, I will have the plugin's code updated and released this weekend. I will post on this thread when the new version is released.

Under Member Only section, the main show episodes starting from 2/21/17 report that "Video doesn't exist on website". Looking at the video download links on the website are now on a different host, content.jwplatform.com, rather than being on the tytnetworks domain. Given they made an announcement recently regarding new tech they were rolling on on the show, I'd say it's not just a coincidence.

Hopefully this can be fixed quickly, I really like watching the member content on my Kodi box, and would rather not have to download them.
