Evening,

Just thought I'd gauge opinion on using one of these as an XBMC box?

http://uk.hardware.info/productinfo/1373...ifications

I've been away from XBMC for a year or so now, and starting again from scratch both with my hardware and my media. Sad

Specs below -

Processor AMD FX-8100
Memory capacity 6 GB
Memory type DDR3
GPU AMD Radeon HD 6450
Memory (discrete) 2,048 MB
DVI output 1
HDMI output 1
Total hard disk 1,000 GB
Rotation speed 7,200 rpm

Will be used alongside a storage server hosting the media. Looking to run Frodo, with Aeon Nox skin.

Appreciate your thoughts. Smile

Those specs are more than enough to run XBMC! That's a desktop class pc, it could even be used for light gaming is my guess. I am assuming you already own the pc? Give it a try.

I don't already own it, but have the option of buying it cheap from where I work. Smile

Last time, I built my own box from scratch - but think it would probably cost me more to build a similar spec than just buying this ready to go.

No interest in gaming on it as I'm not a gamer at all, but would like a rock solid media box which will last a couple of years really.

Thanks for the feedback, if we still have this in work today I'll have a play with it.
