Hi

I currently have a 2TB NAS (Iomega). And a 2TB Seagate External HDD. The content is identical on each (so the HDD is the backup) and they store all my pictures, and videos I access via XBMC.

I am looking to upgrade (ideally to a 4TB device) but keep my existing storage devices as the backup.

Will these stream 1080p files ok etc?

Thanks!

They both have GigE so they should be able to stream 1080p no problem.
The second one would be my choice mainly since it is a 2 bay system and you can probably upgrade to more than 4T in the future plus you have some raid functionality.

If you have an old PC laying around I would also suggest looking into unRaid all you need is an old PC a thumb drive and sata slots for drives...

cheers. I won't use Raid as the 2 x 2TB I have now will be backup. I'll just go JBOD.

As for unRaid - It seems a practical way to go but I haven't the time or equipment just yet.
