Hi Sharpe,

Hope you're doing well - it's been a while Smile

Anyway, not sure if there is any skin-end solution for this, but thought I would check to see if you can suggest any way to fix one of my few lingering frustrations with my XBMC setup.

Basically, I just want to be able to browse recently added music and see Singles and Albums within the same list. (Ie In the same list, Album cover will show for albums and Single cover will show for any recently added singles).

Doesn't seem like it should be too much to ask from a music front-end, but as far as I can gather there is currently no way to achieve this in XBMC.

Without this feature, I can easily forget all about recently added Singles - it can be very frustrating!

Would be awesome if you could suggest any possible solution to this.

Thanks so much.

Hi mate - do you put all your singles in one folder? If you did, could you make some sort of smart playlist based on the path to the folder? Maybe with a time condition applied to the results?

Thanks for the suggestion. Problem is i want to be able to browse ALL recently added music (ie. showing both new singles and new albums). The path based solution wouldn't help with that right? In any case all the singles aren't in the same folder...

Oh well that sounds more general xbmc related.

I still think you could get part way there with some imaginative smart playlist manipulation though,

Maybe add the word "single" to all your singles comments tags? Then make a smart playlist and call it "Recently Added Singles", for anything with "single" in the comments and then add a time condition rule to the playlist say only show the last 30 days?

That would in theory give you a library entry point for your newest singles.

Thanks for the idea Sharpe - think that might work well to show the recent Singles....however it wouldn;t achieve what i'm really after which is to view singles and albums in the same list.

This was actually possible before Frodo (albeit with each single just showing the default "missing album cover" image). Would love to get this simple feature back!

In the general XBMC thread I made about this same topic I described what I'm looking for:

"In case I'm not making myself clear, what I am trying to achieve is the digital equivalent of the following analogue situation:

I go to the the CD shop - I buy a bunch of CD albums and a bunch of CD singles - I browse through the resultant stack!"
