WMCServer Fails to load EPG at startup
#1
When the WMCServer is loaded automatically at windows startup, I get the following message...

RecService > failed to load EPG
Unrecoverable Error - Server will terminate

I am using build 1077.

Loading the server manually, it seems to load OK, but in the Pi, I get no EPG data showing on screen.
Everything else on the Pi works fine (live tv, recordings, timers, etc)

I guessing these are related problems...

Am I using the wrong build, or is there a conflict I am not seeing.

Your help is truly appreciated...

If you are really using build 1077 as stated in this old post upgrade to the newest server version as this problem was addressed a couple of revs ago.

Sorry to mislead. I have build 1089 but the symptoms are as stated. I would post the WMCServer log in pastebin but do not know where to find the log. I tried looking in the Programs folder WMCServer but could not see a log. As a point of interest I am running it on Windows 8.1

"C:\ProgramData\VDsoftware\ServerWMC\ServerWMC.log" but you can always go to the debug tab of the ServerWMC gui and open it there

Also, serverwmc.exe has to run on a windows pc that has wmc fully installed and configured. Just saying, since the above error can happen if the server can't find any epg database.

Hi eeny99,
In my case, when I was getting that error, it was because the PVR client did not know the correct time. Because I don't have internet, the client would always start at some time in 1970. It's possible there is someone else on this planet besides me that does not have internet...

If so, I hope he lives on a ranch too Smile.

I got the error today, after installing 1135 just now on my Windows 7 PC.

The installer includes a "Launch" option on the last screen that fails. After the installation completes, however, I can run the program from the Start menu.

Just posting FYI to developer. The installer could be using an old path.

Windows Media Center can already play TV on this PC, but I am trying to get TV into XBMC.
