Good day everyone. I have owned an Apple TV 2 for about a year now and it has xbmc installed on it. I love it.
The price for these devices has skyrocketed and I was curious if there were any other alternatives that worked as well and were more cost effective? If there are how do they compare?

Is the ouya considered stable now? Is it something i could install xbmc on and give to a non-technical person as a gift?

I have the same question as above. Also, can you control the device with your iphone or another controller as I can with the Apple TV ?

As long as you have a network connection on your XBMC system and you enable the Webserver and Remote Control settings, you can use a web browser or remote control app to control XBMC.

Good to know. How stable is it? I know it's only been on the market for a little bit.

Its usually pretty stable. I get an occasional crash but not to often. I wouldn't call it gift ready if the person is not technical at all because you have to install a version of xbmc that's not currently in the Ouya app store for sound to work. The xbmc gui is butter smooth on the ouya though, I would say like ten times smoother than the raspberry pi, even the latest builds.
