I am looking to upgrade my HTPC.
Currently have a ZOTAC ION ITX A-E (Atom 2x1.6Ghz CPU. WLAN) with a 32gb SSD which is connected to a external 3tb HD.
Watching Freesat TV through a foxsat HD box but looking to have all in the one box.
Use a Harmony 600 to control the HTPC using a RC6 dongle.
I know I need a server and was wondering if for the time being could I use this board for the server. i know it only has 3 sata connections but for the time being would it work, be powerful enough for Unraid.
I am looking to mainly spend the money on the HPTC.
Looking at Eskro thread and thinking so something like Build #5
What I mainly want to do is,
Watch & Record live TV (At the moment I use Windows Media Center and find it works quite well)
Like the idea that I can use something like MCEBuddy to recode the recording and remove ads.
Maybe some old school gaming PS1 and such
XBMC (Im using Aeon Nox but is a but slow with my current setup)
Get better sound as am also upgrading my Surround Sound Amp and my Marantz 4300 is fecked. So want HD sound
I will reuse my SSD as its only a year old and does the job
Want a top notch system that I can use for a good few years.
Any suggestions?
