Win Which backend for Digital Devices CineCT V6?
#1
Question
Hello everybody!

I'm in the process of setuping up my new HTPC, using Windows 7 64bit and Digital Devices Cine CT V6 with cable (DVB-C).
With DVB-Viewer Pro (Demo version) everything is working perfectly well, channels tuning in just fine and picture quality being excellent.

Now on my current system I tried setting up XBMC with a PVR backend, NextPVR if I remember correctly, only to find out that it wouldn't work with my CINE CT.

Does anyone of you guys use Windows, XBMC and a Digital Devices Cine CT?
If so, would you mind recommending me a backend that's working well?

Thanks a bunch!

All I know is the device works like the train on Linux with tvheadend. If it works perfectly for you with DVB Viewer then perhaps you should buy it?

I would buy it, but is there a backend that supports DVBviewer in XBMC?

What happened when you tried it with NextPVR? Assuming this device has BDA drivers, then it should work fine with NextPVR.

Where exactly? I mainly test NextPVR against Hauppauge devices, but there is no reason your 'digital devices cine ct' shouldn't work.

That list is a couple of years out of date, and only shows devices that some users have confirmed as working with NextPVR - it doesn't mean that devices not listed wont work. It's likely no one has ever tried it with less common devices like yours. It'll probably work.

Well I tried, and maybe I did something wrong, still I got no Picture at all with NextPVR, while DVBviewer instantly showed up with channels.
Is NextPVR even the best backend for Windows and XBMC with DVB-T?

Assuming it found your channels, then the most likely reason you didn't get a picture is due to the decoders you've got selected on the Settings->Decoders screen.

I don't know - I haven't tried the others.

Hello,

I do not own the cine CT V6, but the cine S2 V6.5 and two firewire cards from digital devices. My experience was, that digital devices products work very well with the Team MediaPortal TV-Server. I often used this software on windows mashines and the xbmc plugin worked very well. I did not test it with version 1.5 of the tv server, but with version 1.4 and I have been satisfied.

edit:
As I have seen, the xbmc plugin for the MediaPortal server was not updated for version 1.5 of the server. So you have to use server version 1.4 with the plugin from this page: http://www.scintilla.utwente.nl/~marcelg...rxbmc.html.
