Push-Button Kiosk style?

I've been using multiple platforms for awhile now, Xbmc, Plex, etc. and I imagine that XBMC is going to be my best shot at what I'm after at the moment.

I've been tasked with building an interactive video kiosk at my office which shows off the newest products. Is there already some add-on in existence which would allow me to hack up a keyboard and stick some arcade buttons down so that when a user presses the big, red button labelled "1", my XBMC PC plays video one (which is about product 1)?

Any info is good info!

There are plenty of keyboard hacking projects on the net, but if it's as simple as 1,2,3 - what about a numpad keyboard, then use the keyboard.xml to map those keys to play the files.

Other than that, as I said there are plenty of howtos. Basically a keyboard is a matrix of connectors, join row B to column 4 and it produces a keypress. row C and column 4 a different keypress etc. You can connect the little keyboard chip to pretty well any switches you want.

See for example (and I have seen simpler howtos) http://www.instructables.com/id/Hacking-.../?ALLSTEPS

Super groovy! Yeah, I've got a keyboard already hacked up - I had some fun making an arcade machine and then I went a little overboard on parts, had some extras. I'm really just trying to work out how I can map the buttons to play a file in a given position (thus making videos interchangeable month-to-month)
