Hi all,
I have multiple ISO files, hosted on a Win 7 64-bit share, that fail mid-way through only on Android clients.
In the following scenarios the ISOs play exactly as if the DVD were in the local drive:
-The local machine the shares are hosted on
-A Win 7 64-bit client over WiFi network
-An OSX 10.7.5 laptop over WiFi
I have two android devices that XBMC shows the exact same behavior, in the exact same places in the ISO:
-Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0+ (Honeycomb 3.2)
-LG Nexus 4 / Mako (Paranoid Android 4.2.2)
Steps to reproduce the problem:
-Open XBMC
-Navigate to, and select, the ISO file located on the SMB share
-Select play option from DVD menu
-Allow Video to play until it fails back the the file list (all ISOs tested will play more than 30 minutes)
-Playback stops and falls back to the XBMC file selection list
Alternate (faster) steps:
-Open XBMC
-Navigate to, and select, the ISO file located on the SMB share
-Select chapter/episode selection option from DVD menu
-Select a chapter beyond the 30 minute mark
-Playback does not start, however screen blanks then instantly falls back to the XBMC file selection list
All clients are running v12.2 downloaded directly from the main download page at xbmc.org. I also tried the v13 Aplha6 (linked from http://xbmc.org/xbmc-13-gotham-june-and-july-cycles/) on the Galaxy tab, with the same result.
Here's a paste of the log from the Nexus 4: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=47339
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance… And, of course, thanks to the XBMC team for all the hard work!
EDIT:
Last night, I took a couple of the ISOs and ran them through DVDShrink at the highest possible compression (brings them down to ~3.5Gb). I noticed that the XBMC played further into the video before falling back to the file list.
Is it possible that, due to some Android OS/file system limitation, XBMC can't read ISOs larger than a certain size?
Has anyone else run into this, or have the means to try to replicate?
