Testers wanted: XBMC v12.3 testing

(2013-11-09, 04:15)pmcd Wrote: Regarding sound. I am using a 2012 Mini and osx10.9. I can't get sound from any of the test builds, night lies, etc ... In particular my Bluetooth headphones don't work except one time where I could get GUI sounds but no audio from a video. Odd as XBMC has always been very good to me sound wise. XBMC Frodo in win8.1 works great on a NUC. Plex on the Mini works fine from the audio aspect.

I have tried both 32 and 64 bit versions of test Frodos. Is it easier to get the 32 bit one to work?

When I have been able to launch a video hardware acceleration was turned off.

Philip

Try:

XBMC -> Settings -> System -> Audio output -> scroll down to "Output device" and select "Default"

Turn off the various "... capable receiver" options.

If still no luck, see if you can get us a debug log (wiki).

only problems with Sound on some files.
Have to switch output to get it working on most serie's after a startup but on most movie's it doesn't make a difference.
Sound on all files is working in quicktime or VLC. Never had this problem on the 12.2 builds, only since Mavericks came out.

Using the 64bit 01 november build for OSX, running on Mavericks on a 13" mid 2010 Macbook Pro
Debug file is here: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=82752

I'm seeing xbmc-20131109-21c1810-master-x86_64 crash on OS X Mavericks when I go to System -> Settings -> System -> Input Devices

As soon as I select that alternative in the menu, or hover over it with mouse, XBMC crashes with a SIGSEGV. Please see http://pastebin.com/iS6c2gCs for a crash log.

I cannot tell if that menu alternative worked on earlier versions since this is a Late 2013 MBP which only runs Mavericks.

"select that alternative in the menu, or hover over it with mouse", explain please. select or hover over what ?

XBMC crashes when I either use the arrow keys to step through the System -> Settings -> System menu to the Input Devices, or when I move the mouse cursor to the Input Devices alternative. That is, as soon as the Input Devices sub menu pane loads, XBMC SIGSEGVs.

did you have any 'Peripherals' set ?

None that I know of. I used to run an earlier version of Frodo (12.0 or 12.1 I think) on a previous incarnation of this install on different hardware, but I'm fairly sure I haven't set any additional Peripherals settings.

Just to make sure, I removed ~/.xbmc and ~/Library/Application Support/XBMC and restarted and got the same error.

I have also made sure to disconnect all external hardware that was connected to the MBP after wiping the config directories, as well as rebooting and neither helped.

Debug log says "NOTICE: Starting XBMC (12.2 Git:20130502-32b1a5e)", which means you're not running the build mentioned in the first post. You're running the normal 12.2 stable version that is currently out.

Thanks, will try to look into this. I've poked some people over at the HDHomeRun Forums to ask them if they are also still having the UPnP/DLNA issue. (My own device is acting up in general right now)

OSX 10.9, xbmc-20131101-0536b03-Frodo-x86_64.dmg

- problems getting mouse pointer visible when XBMC is not active application. Both in fullscreen and windowed mode. Combination of hiding XBMC (from the menu) and choosing items from menu bar may bring the pointer back

- Keyboard shortcut for "Hide XBMC" minimises its window to Dock rather than hiding

- video playback difficult due to repeated "seeking", causing up to a few seconds of delays whenever jumping backwards or forwards or changing playback speed

With regards.

(2013-10-31, 08:17)Ned Scott Wrote: At least on Mac OS X and Linux builds, there seems to be a regression on seeking video where it takes a 1-2 seconds for playback to start. Seems to happen with both back/forward steps and rewind/fast forward.

I confirm - here the delays are sometimes even longer. Quite annoying.
