So I have a Roku HD. I thought it'd be awesome to be able to somehow use it either as a DVR or to view DVR content from another location since I miss a lot of shows from going to study groups and whatnot.
So here's what I'm thinking: Use a coax splitter to run the cable to my TV and to my computer (I have the splitter and the tv tuner on it's way). Record with whatever backend and XBMC to a 1TB hard drive. Then use Plex Media Server to access the recordings on my Roku so I can watch it on TV.
Would it be as simple as all that or are there some kind of encoding issues? I have never done this before so I may need a dumbed down explanation if so.
Also, I've seen plug-ins for XBMC that integrate some of Plex's functionality, but is that even something that would help with what I want?
