Video stutter only on one TV
#1
Not sure if this should go in here or the main forum, but as I'm using the Pi I guess I'll post it in here.

I initially setup my Pi to stream a mixture of 1080p and 720p encoded video from my NAS server to the TV (26" 720p Sharp LCD) in my bedroom. As this worked without a hitch, I decided to move the unit downstairs to the main TV and use it to stream video there. However, I can't seem to get smooth video playback on the main TV (46" 1080p Sony LCD).

As per some of the guidance from previous threads and google, some of the things I've already tried but that didn't work are:
- Connect directly to the TV
- Connect via AV amp to the TV
- Change the resolution
- Change the refresh rate
- Turn on/ off match refresh rate to video
- Turn on/ off sync payback to display
- Use the AV amp to decode the audio via passthrough

I'm using the Rbej Frodo build via USB and below are the logs for the Pi connected directly to each TV set running the same video. The first one is the one that stutters (main room), the second is the one that runs without any problems. Any ideas?

From the log it's not getting enough network bandwidth.
Is the network wired or wireless?

Of course, that should have been the first thing I looked at when moving from one room to another. Blush

The house I live in is an old build and as it's nigh on impossible for me to lay my own cat5/6 wire, I've been using homeplugs as an alternative to the unreliability of wireless. However I ran a basic network test today after your insight and found that the plug I've been using for my Pi is a lot slower than the others on my network. I will play about with the different outlets to see whether I can get anything decent otherwise I will need to assess my options.

Thank you for the help.
