Want XBMC on my Media Player
#1
Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone has come across the Stylus Audio Visual UMP 1003 Media Player, I had a PC running XBMC on it and it unfortunately died so bought this media player.
I want to know if it is possible to load XBMC onto it instead of the standard software it is running?

It runs a RTD1055 chipset and appears to be running the same software as the iconBIT XDS1003D I believe this is based on an Android or Linux system?
If anyone has any ideas on loading XBMC onto this I would appreciate it as I loved the XBMC platform.

I have a link to the product catalogue below the product is on page 29 if it will help at all.

I have also linked the XDS1003D product spec below, the only difference appear to be the chipset but the software looks the same between the UMP1003 and the XDS1003D

Look forward to some advise with this, really hope I can go back to using XBMC.

Thanks in advance,
Gareth

It's not possible to run XBMC on media players with Realtec SoC.
There are lots of reasons, among other things: Very low clock speed, totally closed source, MIPS architecture, and as far as i know no OpenGL support.
