Release A simple guide to managing XBMC Metadata and Artwork
#1
I've written a simple guide to XBMC metadata and artwork management to help people understand what XBMC expects and needs to function correctly.

This should be particularly useful for noobs.

It's available here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0...sp=sharing

Nice work! A couple of things I noted:

1. I suggest adding a note "You don't have to have all those files - XBMC will grab information for you if you don't, and generally does a pretty good job of it. The advantage of having .nfo files and local artwork is to ensure the information you want is the information you get, and to benefit from some additional art and the like that XBMC doesn't fetch by default". Probably somewhat shorter than that if you can manage it Smile

2. I notice an issue in that we export to <moviename>-<arttype>.png|jpg regardless of "parents in separate folders" setting. The reason is that the setting "movies in separate files named like the movie" might have been screwed up by the user, but I don't think this is a good enough excuse. We do actually have the knowledge at export time that this is a movie in a folder (as it's basepath is the folder rather than the file) so we can probably fix this.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Excellent work - I learned some things with your well-written guide.

If I could make a suggestion, the addition of Music and Artists and their respective structures would really complete the guide.
