That's tearing and some of us are seeing it nightly builds. I have tried many, if not all setting combinations and cannot get rid of it.
Now that I have 10.6.8 I think i'll try a nightly build again if it would be OS specific issue.
I'm using 2010 mini too, who knows, maybe it's GPU related?

What the op describes is not tearing imo.

I'm not seeing this effect, whatever it is, with the newest nightly. Also the annoying sluggish seek problem is much better, it's still not as good as in Frodo but quite close.
