Intel Pentium 3560Y Capable of 1080p x264 Playback?
#1
So I was thinking of buying the Sony VAIO Tap 11 with an Intel Pentium 3560Y and 4GB of DDR3L ram and was curious if you guys think that will be able to play back x264 1080p media files through XBMC with no issues.

I'd also like to future proof a little bit and also be able to play x265 files on it once that codec goes final. Anyone know if it will be powerful enough for that too?

x264 will be no problem since it has the Intel HD Graphics..

x265 ... i'm afraid this can be a problem.

Thanks for the reply. Out of curiosity what range of processor should I be looking for if I want to make sure it will work with x265? i3+? i5+?

So what do you think?

IMHO a current 4-Core CPU will not be enough for all bitrates of 4k playback.
Cheapest way will be a cheap graphicscard with build in HW decoding for h265 when it is available.
