Can't say at this moment, one complete new Sony NSZ-GS7 is one its way for a total amount of €49,-. Then that remote seems a bit expensive to me Wink
I will test it when I've got it in tha house.

Did you just order it now? Big Grin

I see remotes (ie. Logitech) for $100 and up, and think wow.... I'd have to force myself to watch TV constantly to warrant that much for a remote, and not just watching but hitting buttons non-stop as well. Big Grin Even for $50 is a bit pricey, but... keyboard on the back and what appears to be a touch pad, might be pretty handy.

Not sure how the voice part works... does the remote translate the voice? or does it transmit to the Google TV that's mentioned and it translate the voice to a keypress...

Definitely post your results. I have a Sony TV, was looking for a new remote so I can turn it on/off and access the menu with. Otherwise, I have 2 remotes, the TV remote and the HP remote for XBMC, since neither allow switching devices.

NO, bought it last week, is send to me last Saturday, I should get it tomorrow. This Sony was on-line on sale by MediaMarkt and some other stores in Holland, but that on-line offer has past.

Under the link that is posted in TS a user says it's not working with the older version of the 2010 model Sony Google TV. So maybe the remote for the 2010 and 2012 are so different that it doesn't works at all or maybe even better? Time will tell Wink

Well...., the remote connects by Blue-tooth and the keyboard works 100%, the touchpad doesn't give a sign of life and not all the keys on the touchpad side are working. The arrow keys work but the center (ok/enter), does nothing. Volume, mute, page up/down (same as arrow up and down)keys, on the side of the remote, are working ok.
I only tested it with no extra settings active. So... connect by Blue-tooth (as Sony NSG-MR5-E), started XBMC and trying the remote.

The remote that comes with the Sony NSZ-GS7 is not voice controlled. I have type NSG-MR5E, the voice controlled version is the MR7U, the one that is linked to in TS. So maybe that price for that remote is OK after all?

If you set it up with eventghost you should be able to get every button working except for the trackpad.

That could be the case but I don't wanna use it as an XBMC remote. Only tried if the remotes would be recognized by Windows and that's the case.

I use EventGhost, which grabs the iR signal and you can assign it to a function in XBMC... unlikely it'll help with the touchpad issue, but maybe the rest of the buttons?

I have dual monitors, I use the PC for well, games, internet etc... 2nd screen is a TV where I have XBMC running so, if I don't use EventGhost, if the focus isn't on Screen#2, it affects my windows desktop. It works well, but now I have to wonder, if using it does that mean I have to map the entire keyboard on the back of the remote as well as the front buttons. :S
