Hello, I am wondering if i this is ok for a HTPC.
Specs-
Intel i5 3.33Ghz
Asus P7P55 lX Motherboard
8gb ram
1tb wd green hdd (thinking about get ssd)
ATi Radeon HD 5700
1000W 80 Plus Gold Modular PSU
Anyone recommend any upgrades only going to be using it for streaming media from hdd and netflix and twitch streams

Slightly beefier than my windows 8 htpc and it does great with HD streaming, Netflix, and game emulation.

yeah more than easily will be fine in fact it is probably too powerful people including myself run xbmc on smaller less powerful machines without any issues especially when running Openelec as it is lighter than windows but this would run windows or any OS you want and have plenty of power leftover

It's overkill for a basic HTPC, but that gives you the flexibility to throw Steam on there and have an awesome gaming machine, which will probably out-perform the current gen consoles (yes, I'm looking at you, XBone and PS4)
My HTPC is a Core2Quad QX9650 with a 6990 and runs pretty much anything I can throw at it at 1920x1080@60fps
