Not really a specific XBMC issue, but the mirror service provided by France goes at around 50KB/s compared to others which download at around 12-16MB/s. Unfortunately I have to cancel the download and restart hoping it'll use a different mirror.

Have I posted this in the correct area?

I have checked from a couple of UK servers I have plus one in Germany and the speed is the same so it can't be ISP related.

Which one is it that is slow? You can see when you download from mirrors.xbmc.org what it redirects it too

http://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/ is the one that's slow - the only French one on the list. The maximum speed I've managed to get is by using axel from a German server - 1.4MB/s.

Well we're open to new ones of course
So if some one in France works for some institution that is willing to host xbmc on them. We need rsync and httpto add them.

Disabled the French mirror for now so you should get faster servers.

If it's located in a respectable data centre it should be fine as well.

To be a good mirror you need to have a reliable server on a fast connection with loads of bandwidth to burn

Does 21TB in a few months count as a lot of b/w to burn?
