Hi everyone,
This is my first post on the board. After doing a lot of reading here and on other boards, I think I found a build that should work for me.That being said, I'd appreciate some input or advice.
I'm looking to remove all of the entertainment boxes around my TV and centralize everything. I would like to play my SNES games on this, stream movies and tv shows (from netflix and the like), play CDs and blurays. I don't want to set up a server and may hook up an external HD for some content. However, the majority of what I will be using this for is streaming content. I will be running this through my plasma TV and my audio through a receiver.
I'm looking at this:
CPU: AMD A6-5400K 3.6GHz Dual-Core Processor
Motherboard: MSI FM2-A55M-E33 Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
HD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Case: Apex DM-318 HTPC Case w/275W Power Supply
I realize this isn't a high end machine at all, but given what I am going to use it for, I don't think I need it. I think some of these parts are slightly outdated, so any recommendations would be great.
