i just came across this chinese developed program called tvkoo, it's a windows program that let's you see different tv channels live. hbo, espn, discovery channel, chinese tv channels, and the major norwegian channels. if someone could build in the same functionality in xbox mediacenter it would be awsome! the channels thats allready available in mediacenter scripts are crap, but here you got real quality channels!

we can't receive hbo, discovery nor espn where i live, so it would be great to see these through the xbox.

tvkoo creates a local stream that can be used.
http://yourlocalip:9800/

(your windows firewall must have that port open to local network ip's)
i have tried just saving that url text as a test.strm file and tried to run that on the xbox.but that dosen't work in my case.

i download mplayer for windows, and added the dumpparameter.
mplayer windows version opens the tvkooapp stream with ease.

i wait for some time, and then stream the dumpfile to the xbox using smb share.
that works perfect! only dumb thing is that it's not completly  live.(the dump can get big after a day :p )

i made up this bat file to start the dumping(tvkoodump.bat).
"c:\program files\mplayer\"mplayer.exe http://localhost:9800/ -dumpstream -dumpfile stream.asf -cache 8192

Edit: This works for TVNOO aswell, just change the port to 9801, that is http://localhost:9801
