Error Setting-Up for 1st Viewing
#1
I'm currently running an AppleTV2. My backend server is WMC with Server WMC. I followed the Kodi Wiki for how setup the backend and the frontend server.

WMC is working and I can watch Live TV. When I start Server WMC i get an error message from windows .NET. See pastebin.

I have setup Kodi to load Live TV. It communicates with Server WMC and the EPG is loaded, but when i try to load a channel to view it i get an error that the channel cannot load see logs. Logs attached, see pastebin.

I have a NAS that i want to setup as my hub for recording TV, but i wanted to get this working for now before i switch the recording location to the NAS. Any help is appreciated.

Not sure about the UI error but your other issue is because you need to provide user/password in ServerWMC for the Kodi clients to access your recorded tv share. You can either setup a windows account specially for this purpose or just provide your existing windows username and password

Do you get the framework error every time you start swmc?

@scarecrow420 - The particular share folder is setup so that everyone has access to read & write. There should be no need for a user/password right?

@krustyreturns - I get the error every time that ServerWMC opens. After clicking through the .Net error, ServerWMC appears to be working fine. I was thinking that the 2 problems were somehow linked.

"everyone" in Windows terms means all known windows users on the domain/home group, but you said you are on an apple tv which doesn't run under a windows user so yes you do have to specify one

I did some research on the ui error and it seems to be related to the framework version and the 'notifyicon' code we use for showing swmc in the system tray. Do you know what framework version you are running? I couldn't reproduce the error on my machines (I'm running 4.5.2). There is probably a way to figure out the framework version from the log you posted but I was too lazy to figure it out.

I couldn't find the reason for the error but one guy posted a workaround that seems very low risk. I will pm you a test swmc to see if this workaround solves the problem if you can find time to test it.

@scarecrow420 - That worked I had some success with channels loading. couple issues though and I might just need to read up on adjusting settings
1) image was picture framed completely with a black border reducing the picture size
2) HD channels do not load
3) some channels that i can load on WMC were not loading on kodi. http://pastebin.com/FmRZSBnU

@krustyreturns - the UI error went away, but I got an error about port 9180 not being opened. I dismissed that as i don't need 9180 opened. That port is being requested for Plex and i'm not using that.

Just testing understanding: the ui error went away only with the test build I sent you, right?
