Currently running openelec (xbmc 12.2) on this machine:
Biostar NM70I-847
LC Power LC-1340mi
Kingstom valueram 1x2gb ddr3 1333 mhz

Media is on an unraid server.
Since i have 3 xbmc machines, the library is on the unraid server running mysql

However, the openelec machine (biostar one) plays everything smoothley, browsing main menu and loading covers from movies, is too slow for me
(running aeon mq5 skin)

I tried to put of several things in the skin, but still it remains a bit slow.

Is this causu of the ram or the cpu?
Is a different build necessary?

What kind of storage do you use?
SSD, HDD or usb key?

Do you have the issues with the deafaukt theme too?

Use an SSD.... and browsing will go dramatically faster...

Its not on a hdd! Its on a network server!

I have another xbmc on windows, no problems there to access te network share

Is MySQL running on a cache drive? Could it be the unraid server needs more memory? Are the thumbs and other images being cached on the MySQL?

Yup on cache.
No memory problem there.
Also its fast enough for my other xbmc boxes. So why not this one?

Hmm... maybe add some memory to it. But with openelec I would think the 1 gig should be enough. With that said I would try adding some memory to it before I built a new one.
