Hi
I've used iTunes to import and organize my entire (+500) cd collection which is located in my iTunes library on my mac. If I point XBMC to that directory it will recognize most of the albums, but seems to have its own source of album artwork. Again most covers show up correctly, but some covers doesn't. The album art is either missing or is wrong.
1) is there any way I can force XBMC to use the same covers as I see in iTunes (I don't know how iTunes handles this or where the files are stored) or
2) can I manually change/add pictures for the once that are missing/wrong?
Thanks in advance :-)

XBMC does support iTunes artwork. iTunes stores embedded artwork like everyone else does.

You could let iTunes download the artwork (at least the settings is still there) but it won't show up in XBMC since it's a local file.
To use only artwork embedded to ID3 tags, go your album scraper settings and try disabling cover downloading there and see if it makes any difference. One would think that embedded artwork has higher priority than scraped ones so i don't know if this makes any difference.
Also, double check the ID3 tags in iTunes that the covers are actually there. When you make changes to the tags in iTunes you need to update your XBMC music library to see the changes.

Yes, only embedded artwork will show up in other applications. So letting iTunes download the album art is useless if it's not your only application.

Sorry... I was wrong. Seems like it doesn't make a difference at all to disable the scrapers and update the library :-(
Also I tried to put a jpg file (256x256) in an album folder as suggested by the wiki and it seems to work. However it's a bit annoying as 1) its much easier to drag & drop the file into iTunes and 2) I've already got album covers for all cd's there as opposed to the 80-90% that XBMC scrapers were able to find.

Interesting, I didn't realize that iTunes behaved differently when you used the "get artwork" vs manually pasting artwork. However, there is a solution for this:
