OS X Frodo 12.3 and Mavericks compatibility question?
#1
I have been following the development of 12.3 in the forum in anticipation of updating to Mavericks. Before I start this process I would like to confirm that there are no issues remaining regarding compatibility. All my media is located on several networked shares so Samba issues are a big deal but I believe all these problems have been resolved. Correct? Are there any others?

Hey mate. I'd like to see this as well but I read memphiz indicate in a thread recently (a couple of days ago) that there were quite a few things they need to address. I didn't ask him details but its obviously to do with all the changes that have taken place with 10.9

Thanks. Actually, the computer that I'm planning on upgrading is a MacPro (2008) that I use as my primary work horse and a media server for xbmc. I use a mini for the htpc which has Mountain Lion installed and I'll probably leave that alone for the time being. I'm running Snow Leopard on the Pro and wish I could leave it (very stable) but many developers are stopping there support for older OS's and it's getting left behind. Figured I'd go ahead and upgrade the Pro to Mavericks and install XBMC on it, that way I can use it for testing. Wanted to get some idea of what issues were unresolved before hand though, especially with network shares. Was hoping there might be a list of current Mac issues. Haven't found one though.

I think it depends on how your Mac mini is hooked up to TV and audio. I have HDMI to TV and optical out to audio amp, and it has been very solid for me running Mavericks and XBMC 12.3. But I'm sure you've read of a lot of difficulties with HDMI for audio on the Mac. I don't know how common those problems are.
