in XBMC 13 20140118 music tag MUSICBRAINZ_ALBUMARTIST is read. If this tag exists, it overrides the content of ALBUMARTIST and I assume its aliases (ALBUM ARTIST or TPE2) in the music database. I can see an argument for this behavior, but not sure it is really optimal. My thought is most people use ALBUMARTIST and expect to see this in the database. I can't say one way or the other is best. It should be noted in the Wiki as a Gotham change at least.

AFAIK there is a new setting where you can disable this behavior. Settings -> Music -> Library -> Override song tags with online information
