Hi all, I hope someone here can offer a solution to my troubles, lol. I have an LG 55G2 google tv, It is running what i assume is a modified version of android software, It says its version 4.2.2, I installed xbmc frodo 12.3. , The xbmc software runs great on the tv with the exception of crackling and popping in the audio. It is so bad, I can't even enjoy using it at all. Things I have attempted to solve this are as listed. I have made multiple changes to the audio settings, both in xbmc and my android settings, I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, i have tried loading xbmc 12.0 also and have the same issue. I also have loaded multiple builds of the new gotham nightlies. With gotham versions of the software, the audio issue is solved, however, I have no video, just the audio playing, also most of the add-ons won't install due to dependencies not met error. Also the gotham seems to lock up within a few minutes. I'm not sure if that is related to the not having video or just a bug in it. I would appreciate any help, anyone has to offer, at this point i will try most anything. Ideally I would like to solve the crackling in 12.3 but I am fine with running gotham if anyone has a solutions to the other issues with it. Thanks in advance

Try turning off the various "passthrough" options in the audio settings: XBMC -> Settings -> System -> Audio output -> and turn off the "... capable receiver" options.

Also, if you're willing to do some testing for us on those nightly builds, we'd be very interested in finding out why it's not showing video on those when you use the LG 55G2.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately none of the changes in the audio settings helped with the crackling. I would be happy to test any builds you want. Just let me know what to install and I will get it loaded.

Anyone know of any way to get the video working on the gotham builds? i've tried many builds including the newest, but still no video on my lg google tv. I hope xbmc works toward supporting the tv. any help would be appreciated.

It's hard to say, since it appears to be using a SoC (processor, etc) that LG has specifically made for their Google TVs. LG might also have some missing components in its Android-based firmware that is causing issues. I'm not sure how to even troubleshoot such a device :\

To get the latest Gotham Nightly to display video on your TV you might want to go to SYSTEM->SETTINGS->VIDEO->PLAYBACK and experiment with changing the various parameters there.

In particular try out the various options for RENDER METHOD and let us know how you get on.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I tried some changes in the video render method, but never saw any video. I might add if it will help with troubleshooting, that I have found an old build of gotham that works perfectly just by installing, with no adjustments or setting changes. However, this build had other bugs and errors that I believe have been corrected in the newer versions of gotham that do not work for me. Here is a link to the only build that seems to work. Maybe someone will be able to see what the difference is. the info came from this site, and the link to the build. Please let me know if this helps. I might add, that I wanted to just install the latest nightly build over the top of this and hope for it all to work, however, it will not let me install the latest nightly build over the top of this build due to signatures not matching. One last note, although it says this build is mx player support, it works fine for me without mx player, plays video using the xbmc player. thanks

Can you try with the latest Gotham Nightly with DEBUG set, and post the log please? I'm not a developer, but I've fixed a couple of obvious XBMC problems in my own setup.

For instructions on how to do this see: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_file/Easy
