I've got XBMC on my pc and an AV receiver connected to the local network via ethernet – I've worked out how to play music from the receiver (i.e. I access the files on my PC via it's network function) but is there a way to play music using the XBMC player on my pc and stream it to the receiver via the network? I'd rather control things from my pc than use the (not especially responsive) remote for the receiver.
What I've tried so far is looking for UPNP devices in the XBMC search function, but nothing shows up. I've tried typing in the IP address, and that also did nothing.
