Just wanted to confirm that I read somewhere that openelec has built in pvr backend for TV headed. Is that true? If I use that I don't need a dedicated machine for a backend and I can use the same machine for pvr that's running openelec?

Yes. You install it as an addon. Be careful of tuner support, though, as OE isn't as flexible as a dedicated back end because it's designed to please most of the people, most of the time, in a simple install-and-use configuration.

The HD Homerun only works in the US IIRC.
