Synology NAS migration
#1
I have xbmc installed on my windows desktop, having recently bought a synology NAS, I think it would be logical to share (media) & (db's) to every client...

So i looked, even at the wiki page, to land nowhere. Not that I'm so noob, I even participated at V10 french localization, but here, guys.. Waoww, that's somthing !

The only thing I don't understand is that every guide on the 4 or 5 I've read so far doesn't mention one bit of how/when/where do I COPY my actual db's, as I really don't see the point in the "don't bother yourself with the db, the first time you'll open xbmc it'll create one... " blah blah blah . I don't want a new db, I just want to use the one that's already used, with the fanarts, the thumbs, etc...
So, I've setup PHPmyadmin with a user, I've also the webstation running, my media files are on the NAS, what do I do now Huh

Any sugestion or up to it link would be useful !

For YEARS there have been threads on sharing DBs across multiple XBMC clients. Has nothing to do with the Syno specifically. Keep searching, you'll find the dozen or so threads. Some are still even being posted to.

if you are refering to the myriad of posts with eventually bits and pieces missing from one to another or if you are thinking about the same everywhere 'creating a new database', so yes I know there is some software named google or whatever you like that pointed me to many pages but none, for now, have explain to me how to set enough parameters to use my actual db in a centralized way
