Intel NUC - HTPC (Haswell Late 2013 edition) - REMOTES
#1
I would like to open a new thread to comment about remotes we have that work "out of the box" with the new Haswell NUC.

There are some treads about the NUC:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=176718

and about remotes:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=117372
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=186880

but we can make a new one only for this Haswell NUC.

Feel free to comment what remote model you use, OS, drivers needed, compatibility of buttons, price, or anything you want.

Thankyou
Joan

Wouldn't all the NUCs with IR be relevant? Bay trail?

OK let's include then the bay trail (I didn`t know about this model).
Here you have a review about this "extra large" intel Celeron 128$ NUC that performs very well under XBMC:

Because I have to read the 150 pages NUC Haswell that was the purpouse of this remote compatibe thread, and not the bay trail unless there's some information about remotes.

Can you point to any page on that bay trail thread speaking about compatible remotes?

Yeah. It's called the "search thread" button that can be found on each page of every thread.

Try typing in "remote"

Why just the Haswell NUCs when the Bay Trail has the CIR header as well? Why separate them?

Why do you need a thread for remotes? If the remote you're interested in is RC6 compatible or windows media center compatible. Then it should work out the box with XBMC and the CIR header!

It's not difficult. All the Harmonys work with it too no problem.

I didn't even know that there was this button ;-)

Better type NUC HASWELL and REMOTE...
and you'll get 20 pages with 20 threads each (= 400) of posts related with those terms.
-Unable to connect to remote server...
-remote communication server failed to start
-haswell i3-4330
etc, as you see, exactly what I'm searching for.

or you can try typing +NUC +HASWELL +REMOTE and you'll find one single thread with 151 pages and 2251 replies.

Well I'm in the process, but I think I'll need at least one week to read the thread completely.

Intel NUC - HTPC (Bay Trail/Silvermont 2013Q4 edition) 39 pages and 584 replies.

Well, easy also to find the part that someone did talk about remotes.

I didn't know there was another NUC with integrated CIR. But, why to put in there then, over a new post? Perhaps the best Post Subject had to be NUC with integrated CIR and remotes. But I can't change it know. Can I?

Perhaps is not so clear if a remote is RC6 compatible:

Perhaps the review of a user can be better than the specifications of a product, perhaps because there are remotes that are not present in all countries, and sure we can find some other reasons.

Perhaps not all the people can/want afford a harmony remote. (59$ - 354$)

Why talk about XBMC hardware if it can be executed in almost every computer? Because there isn't the same a raspberry pi and an intel i5 NUC.

7 posts and still any remote to buy.
