All right - I have spent eight hours working on xbmc now so I'm either incredible dense, or I'm missing some vital information.

We only have one TV, so my plan is to use the PC as an extra, streaming the channels from the net.

That part works fine now (six hours in). I can stream our channels through the internet.

I cannot, however, get it to record.

I have enabled the NextPVR PVR client, AND downloaded the NextPVR backend client.

And now ... I get the option to record my live stream. But the resulting files are just 324 bytes .m3u8 files? Which I cant play.

I know this must be a stupid question, but I simply cannot find a clear guide anywhere.

What am I missing?

The NextPVR backend does not create m3u8 files.

Hmm... so clearly I have not established a connection between xbmc and the NextPVR backend.

basically stops after the install, so I'm unsure how to actually start recording anything.

It keeps talking about devices, but no devices show up when I go to settings in the NextPVR.

I can record streamed content without a TV-tuner card, if it is set up properly, right?
