I'm soon to buy two xbmc devices, I know a intel NUC is the way to go but really its a difference of spending 2 * £300 vs. 2 * £100.

One thing I like in xbmc is to play old emulator games, nothing too stressful just snes etc for mario kart with friends.

Anyone tried plugging an xbox 360 pad in for emulators etc?

Or any advice in general with the android boxes plus emulator games from within xbmc.

If XBMC + Emulators is what you are wanting to do then Ouya is the way to go for that.

I suppose I should give the OUYA more of a chance.

The concerns last time i checked were:

1) audio - no analog audio (so I would have to buy a digital reciever * 2)

2) DTS downmix - not possible.

2) DTS dowmix is possible, just install either SPMC or Gotham nightly.
