Linux GOTHAM A11 -Remote share - Could not connect to network server - BUT video plays fine
#1
Hi

My system is Ubuntu 12.04. I was running Frodo for quite some time but today decided to upgrade to 13.0 alpha

Code:
8:31:04 T:3001407296  NOTICE: Starting XBMC (13.0-ALPHA11 Git:8eb49b3). Platform: x86 Linux 32-bit
08:31:04 T:3001407296  NOTICE: Using Release XBMC x32 build, compiled Jan  4 2014 by GCC 4.6.3 for x86 Linux 32-bit 3.2.53
08:31:04 T:3001407296  NOTICE: Running on Linux 32-bit (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, 3.11.10-031110-generic i686)
08:31:04 T:3001407296  NOTICE: Host CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz, 4 cores available

The debug Log file is at Debug Log.

The issue I have is that whenever I play a video from a plugin, I get this popup dialog box asking me press the OK button, even though the video is playing fine.
I searched the forum and found one solution was to disable ipv6 in advancedsettings.xml file. I did try that but still the message wont go away.
Here is the snippet from my AS file.

Code:
<advancedsettings>
<network>
<cachemembuffersize>100000000</cachemembuffersize>
<disableipv6>true</disableipv6>
</network>
....
</advancedsettings>

When I installed the xbmc alpha, I did a purge on all xbmc*, manually went and removed /usr/lib/xbmc /usr/share/xbmc everything and then installed xbmc and xbmc-standalone.

Can someone please advise me how to get rid of this annoying message ?

Thanks
Mwahal

Alpha11 is outdated since months. Update.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I installed from the ppa/unstable and I guess this is what they have it. I am now building from git.

Hi

I installed the A12 nightly build and I still see the same error message on the screen.

The online video is streaming but the "Remote share... " message is still there on the screen.
Please let me know if I can do anything to help debugging.
